Please read the following information:
*Students will participate in another Newbowl next Friday. In order for them to be prepared for the competition each student is expected to locate, read, and bring an article to school regarding his/her assigned Newsbowl category. Remember each article should be notable news for this week only, for the following categories: world news, national news, sports, arts and entertainment, people and places. Students should use a noteworthy periodical such as: newspapers, news magazines, online articles, etc.
*The articles should include a brief summary regarding who, when, when, what, why, and how. It is due on Wednesday, Feb. 17th.

Monday, February 8 –
Answer question # 3- p. 220
Review two-column notes from last week
Compare and contrast Roman Republic and U.S. Government
Homework: Read pp. 219-221 to create a timeline of important events for: 509 B.C., 450 B.C., 275 B.C.,
250 B.C., and 146 B.C. (Be prepared to add more assigned given dates throughout Ch. 14)

Tuesday, February 9– Lunch time review session
Review homework
Define maniple , legions, and legionaries
Read and discuss pp. 221-222 and complete Sect. 2 questions p. 222 # 2-4
Homework: Finish Section 2 Questions p. 222 # 2 – 4, if necessary. Answer each question thoroughly using 2 or more sentences.

Wednesday, February 10–
Review homework
Discuss and take notes: Causes and Effects of Roman Conquests
Begin Power notes- 1st Punic War pp. 222-224
Homework: None - Study for Science test tonight

Thursday, February 11–
Define: Carthage, Punic Wars, corvus, Hannibal Barca
Continue Power notes- 2nd Punic War pp. 222-224
Homework: Finish 2nd and 3rd Punic Wars power notes using subtopics given in class, if necessary

Friday, February 12–
Review power notes
Complete Section 3 Questions p. 224 # 1-4
Homework: Don’t forget to locate and write a short summary for an article for your assigned category of_________
It is due on Wednesday, Feb. 17th.
