Important!! Please read the following information:
*Your child will receive a syllabus at the beginning of each week. If the syllabus is lost students may go to my blog to print another copy of it. See the blog website information at the top of this syllabus.
*This will be the first full week of classes so each child must have a folder and spiral. Ideally it should be the same color. Matching materials help students to stay organized.
*Students should know the following parts of our textbook, and what material can be found or learned in each of the following parts: Table of Contents, Copyright Page, Atlas, Political Map, Physical Map, Glossary, Index, Spanish Glossary, Primary Sources Library, Chapter Focus Box, Terms, Graphic Organizer Activity, and Units.
*My students will take a short quiz on these parts of the book this Friday, September 3rd. If a student plans to be out of town on Friday, be sure to let me know. The test can be taken on Thursday or when he/she returns to school on Tuesday.
*A study guide can be found on the back of this syllabus.
*If your child did not turn in the letter regarding swapping a textbook for a CD please do so on Monday.

Important Information:
•The typed draft of Vital Statistics must be in proper format and is due on Tuesday, August 31. The typed final copy will be due Wednesday, September 8.
•Students received their first Reading Logs today; it is due on Thursday, September 30. Students must read 2 or more books each month, log the book, and obtain parent signatures for each book read.
•Team 6-3 Homework Club will begin NEXT week. Homework club is held from 3:30 to 4:30 (Monday’s with Ms. Alexander, Tuesday’s with Ms. Priebe, Wednesday’s with Ms. Koplin, and Thursday’s with Mr. Morrell).
•Every two weeks students will receive a new list of Vocabra-Words; these will be their spelling and vocabulary words. The students will be tested on these words every two weeks.
•Mark your calendars! Curriculum Night has been changed to Wednesday, September 15, at 6:30 P.M. and Picture Day is Thursday, September 23 (information will be sent home soon).

Homework: Draw your assigned vocabulary word without using the actual word in your
drawing. On the back you should write a good sentence for the word.
Make sure you have your Ziploc bag in class tomorrow because Seedfolks
books will be assigned.
